Health
(TYT) exam results, which are centered on student admission to associate degree and undergraduate programs in Turkey under the regulations of Higher Education Institution. The Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) places the students in their chosen departments according to the scores of the candidates on the elective examination and the contributions of the high school scores.
The recognition of the former formal education is made at the national level in accordance with the framework regulations of the Higher Education Institution and the relevant regulations of the University of Altınbaş in Istanbul. In-house horizontal transfers are made within the quotas determined by the relevant board of directors.
The programme consists of compulsory, area elective and free elective courses. Compulsory courses include courses in the fields of dentistry, terminology, medical anatomy and physiology, infectious diseases and sterilization, radiology, math, computer skills, history, language and communication, english. Area elective courses include medical law, medical documentation, preventive dentistry, healthcare management, dental photography and communication skills with patient. Free elective courses take place in elective curricula of other vocational school of health services programs and are offered to students. Elective courses comprise 16 ECTS in total. For each course, students are required to take the final exam as well as midterm exams and complete other coursework. Research papers and/or oral presentations are required in some courses. At least one midterm exam is given per semester. Final exams are given according to the schedule announced by the University. The final grades are determined by the instructors by considering the score in the final exam, the scores in the midterm exams, class attendance within the semester, and other coursework. Performance level of students is determined by calculating the semester grade point average and the cumulative grade point average. Credit points earned by the student from a course are calculated by multiplying the credit hours of the course and the value of the final letter grade. For repeated courses the last grade is taken into account. All grades are shown in the transcript of the student.
They can take part in dental practice, public and private dental clinics, the Ministry of Health, Oral and Dental Health Centers and state hospitals.
Program students and graduates are able to switch to 4-year faculties with a Health Management and Health Administration bachelor programs.
Students must have completed at least 120 ECTS credits and have achieved a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and must have completed a summer internship covering 30 business days.
Education in the program is given in Turkish Republic History, Turkish Language and Turkish Communication, Computer Skills courses as e-learning, and all other branch courses as face-to-face.
During the undergraduate education, teaching staff of the program and the physical facilities and teaching support provided by the faculty of dentistry within the university together are leading the way in providing qualified education. In addition, the agreement with the Public Hospitals Association provides contributions for summer internships and practical courses.
