The Art and Design Master's Program at the University of London was established in 2013-2014 academic year in the sub-branches of the Plastic Arts, Graphic Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Jewelry Design and Social Sciences Institute.

Specific Admission Requirements

In accordance with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 18 January 2017 and numbered 29952 published by the Council of Higher Education, the conditions for admission of students within the framework of the regulations of the Graduate School of Arts and Design Graduate School of Social Sciences of Altınbaş University: ARTICLE 5 - (1) In order to apply to the master program, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree and an ALES score of not less than 55 points to be determined by the Senate. However, ALES score is not required in the admission of the students to the departments and main departments of the fine arts faculties and the conservatory. (2) In case of admission of students to non-thesis master's degree programs, ALES score is not required and if the ALES score is requested, the base point is determined by the Senate. (3) The principles regarding the application of the candidates who are graduates / candidates, the extent to which the ALES score is not less than 50%, and the other issues related to the admission to the graduate education are determined by the Senate. (4) Students can only accept ALES score as well as the undergraduate grade point average, the results of the scientific evaluation and / or interview to be made in writing. International students are accepted to this program. Students who speak Turkish with the decision of the admissions committee are placed in the department. Different undergraduate graduates can apply to this program by taking scientific preparation.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

A student who is educated at another higher education institution in Turkey or abroad will send the transcript of the courses to be transferred with a petition to the Department Chair. The submitted documents are examined according to the regulations determined by the university. Once the transferred courses are determined, they are submitted to the approval of the Administrative Board of the Institute and the student affairs are sent to the department. Students with different bachelor's degrees will transfer the transcripts of the courses to be transferred to the Department Chair. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

According to Article 6 (2) of Altınbaş University Graduate Program Regulation: The Master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, one seminar course and a thesis study, not less than twenty-one credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The master's program with thesis consists of at least 120 ECTS credits including at least eight courses and thesis work, including seminar course, not less than 60 ECTS credits. The student must register for the dissertation period at the latest every semester after the appointment of the consultant.

An innovative, researching section that can produce unique ideas and designs in the field of Art and Design, associate its products with other art disciplines, analyze by analyzing its environment and age, and feed design productions to the society through the richness of multiculturalism.

The graduates of Art and Design program work in various design studios, advertising agencies, photo studios, art workshops, fairs, biennials and exhibition organizations in the private sector. In addition, they can continue their academic career by doing doctoral program.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 on 4.00 and complete a minimum 120 ECTS credit load, and must have at least a BB grade from all courses. The Master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, one seminar course and a thesis study, not less than twenty-one credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The master's program with thesis consists of at least 120 ECTS credits including at least eight courses and thesis work, including seminar course, not less than 60 ECTS credits. The student must register for the dissertation period at the latest every semester after the appointment of the consultant. In order to graduate, students are required to complete 240 ECTS course load and fulfill the requirement of external internship. A student completing the course load in the program must obtain a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 (G.N.O) in order to be able to meet the graduation requirement.

Applied courses in our department are carried out in the Design Workshop. Computer courses are given in the computer laboratory. Academic staff in our department, full-time faculty members and hourly wage teaching staff.
