Specific Admission Requirements

High school diploma, placement through a nation-wide Student Selection Examination. Providing high school diploma and being placed in the program as a result of the Student Selection Examination conducted through the central system at the national level. Student placement procedures through central system are carried out by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Relevant information on the placement examinations is available at http://www.osym.gov.tr.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The recognition and accreditation of students who come to our university through national or international programmes such as Erasmus programme, Farabi programme etc. is done by the approval of Faculty Coordinate Committee. The course content and ECTS credit of prior courses are taken into consideration. For the transfer of prior courses, the course contents of prior courses must comply with course contents of the department courses. The approval of the Faculty Coordinate Committee is also required for the accreditation of prior courses of students who transfer from other universities.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).

Profile of the Programme

Film Design and Directing Major: Film Design and Directing Major aims to maintain an education program which involves educating directors for film industry, film directing crew compotent of film production and preparing students capable of film production and directing. Besides the courses and applications that involves preparatory information for the profession such as planning and preparing the original studies, realizing all three process of film production –film production, script writing, digital photography, video and film techniques, etc- on radio and television broadcasting.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

This degree enables the undergraduate to exercise the profession in film and television business (including film sector, advertising, tv series, tv shows, etc.) and also work in the academic fields.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.

Graduation Requirements

The students who meet the requirements of article 30-1 of the Regulations on Undergraduate Education and completed the compulsory courses required for this programme are eligible for graduation. The students who obtain education in other universities through the Erasmus programme must meet the 30 ECTS credit required for the semester.

Facilities

Courses in Cinema and Television program are given by 1 full time professor, 2 assistant professors, 1 instructor, 2 assistant, and 1 specialist. Cinema and Television Department has a digital editing unit, photo lab and film-photo shooting studio for student works.
