Aim

  • Because of the increased competition in every industry worldwide, the impact of globalization on local businesses, the advancement of technology that increases product differentiation, and the rise in consumer awareness, marketing is now regarded as the most crucial management function for businesses. Altınbaş University created the Marketing Undergraduate Program in response to this.
Objective

  • In addition to classic marketing concepts and theories, the curriculum seeks to give students the chance to follow scholarly advancements in contemporary subjects like social marketing, sustainability, innovation, electronic marketing, social media, and database marketing.

Specific Admission Requirements

(1) High school diploma (2) Placement through the National Student Selection and Placement Examination (3) A valid score in the IELTS or TOEFL or a similar internationally recognized language test or Altınbaş Univeristy's English exam (4) For associate degree students who have graduated from the same or similar departments of Vocational Schools, placement through the Vertical Transfer Examination (5) For foreign students, direct application to the University and placement; evaluation by the University within the framework of national and institutional regulations that are publicly available on the University website.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The transfer of courses taken outside Altınbaş University is made with the decision of the relevant Faculty or Institute Board of Directors according to the principles in the Regulation. Students may be exempted from these courses if the content of the courses taken from another institution is compatible with the course content offered at Altınbaş University and approved by the relevant Faculty / Institute boards.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A one-year compulsory Preparatory Program is applied in the language of instruction of the program, and those who pass the proficiency exam in the relevant language at the end of the program are directly enrolled in the first year. Preparatory class is not included in the years shown in the education period column. For the relevant language accepted by the university; a) Those who document that they are successful in one of the national and / or international foreign language exams at the level determined by the university, b) Those who are successful in the proficiency exam in the relevant language to be held by the university at the beginning of the academic year are directly enrolled in the first year. The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles of Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education Institutions and Teaching in Foreign Languages” are applied to the students.

Students are required to have completed 240 ECTS credits and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, provided that they do not fail any course.

Profile of the Programme

The compulsory courses offered to students in the first two years of the Marketing Undergraduate Program are General Business, Management, Economics courses, which also form the basis of the Business Administration Program. Unlike other programs under the Department of Business Administration, students in the Marketing Undergraduate Program will take compulsory Psychology and Sociology courses in the second year. Starting from the third year, students will take compulsory and elective courses in marketing and specialize in this field.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Students who graduate from the Marketing Undergraduate Program, which offers sample applications from Turkey and the world to its students by addressing the basic principles of marketing on general business and management knowledge; equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of marketing, will be individuals who can make strategic marketing decisions, speak at least one foreign language, and work as managers in national or international businesses. Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Marketing will be sought-after employees who are specialized in marketing and will work in national or multinational companies in Turkey or in the world. Graduates of the program can work in areas such as brand management, service marketing, retailing, advertising, sales, marketing communication, international marketing or in market research firms, or they can realize their own business ventures. Some of the students who graduate from the program will be able to continue their education at graduate level and contribute to scientific studies.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete the program can apply to Master's programs.
