The Master's Degree in Financial Economy (without thesis) of Altınbas University is established in 2016 and it accepted its students at 2018-2019 academic year.

Aim

  • The objective of a Master's program in Financial Economics is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, theories, and practices in the field of financial economics. This program aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze financial markets, make informed investment decisions, and contribute effectively to the financial sector.
Objective

  • The aim of the program is to enable students to develop a deep understanding of financial economics, including concepts related to asset pricing, risk management, financial derivatives, and financial institutions, enhance students' analytical and quantitative skills, allowing them to critically assess financial data and make evidence-based decisions, prepare students for careers in finance by providing them with the expertise and competencies required in the financial industry, including financial modeling, portfolio management, and financial planning, cultivate students' ability to conduct independent research in financial economics and address real-world financial challenges, instill ethical values and principles in financial decision-making and emphasize the importance of ethical conduct within the financial industry.

Students, who successfully completed the program, become entitled to acquire "Financial Economy Master's Degree (without thesis)".

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The recognition of the previous formal learning is made according to the framework regulations of the Council of Higher Education at the national level and the related regulations of Altınbas University.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

-To able to graduate from this program, student are required to have at least 3.00 General Point Average over 4.00. -At the curriculum of the master's program which comprises of thirty credits and eleven courses on the condition that ECTS is not less than 96, with a course of term project, students are required to register to the course of term project at the year in which the course of term project is taken, and to give report and/or written project at the end of semester. -The course of term project is non-credit and students are required to be evaluated as successful. Altıınbas University aims to educate the students of the Master's Program in Financial Economy (Without Thesis) as the individuals who make a difference with the knowledge in their domain, equipment and communication skills. Students take the core and selective courses at the duration of education, and get the opportunity to meet the academician and the professionals who are prominent in their area and to get the benefit from their experiences. Students improve their own interest area and have a deep information accumulation directed the professional management process with the master's program project or master's program thesis work.

Graduation Requirements

To be able to graduate from this program, students are required to 3.00 General Point Average (GPA) over 4.00 and to be successful by getting, at least, CC mark from all courses and completing at least 96 ECTS credit loads.
