Second Level (Master of Architecture )

Architecture and Building

Bachelor of Architecture degree or Bachelor of Art degree in Interior design, Landscape Design or City Planning Disciplines, Central Examination Score, Foreign Language Proficiency Score Candidates who come from fields other than Architecture, Interior Architecture, City and Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture and apply to the program can be taken into a Scientific Preparation Program with a maximum of 4 courses, the content of which will be determined by the Interview Commission, depending on their qualifications and interests.

Higher Education Postgraduate Education Regulations for students who want to transfer to Altınbaş University from higher education institutions in Turkey and foreign countries, Altınbaş University Graduate Education and the university with Education Regulations relating to transfer set by the Senate Assessment Terms apply.

To graduate from the 2-year master's program, students must successfully complete 7 courses (compulsory and elective courses), seminars and thesis with 25 credits. The total number of courses, seminars and dissertations in the program is 120 ECTS. To graduate, the GPA should be at least 3.00 / 4.00.

The primary aim of the Master of Architecture program is to educate individuals who have completed their undergraduate studies in the field of architecture; to become productive architects who can make their profession at an international level to gain expertise in theoretical and practical areas of architectural design. One of the objectives of the program is to educate qualified experts/specialists/designers who can develop research and design creatively according to Turkey’s architectural conditions. Also, the students will make contributions to the knowledge by sharing the results of the scientific study that they have done in the discipline of architecture with the world of science.

In addition to the Department of Architecture studios and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Science Laboratories, there is also a construction laboratory where laser cutting, 3D printers, and 2D plotters, printers are available. The Department of Architecture has ERASMUS agreements with many architectural schools providing education in Europe. Students can go to these schools for one or two semesters. During the 14-week Fall and Spring semesters, many conferences, symposiums, and seminars are organized in the department that brings together experts from architecture design, architectural education and professional practice with students and academics. Thus, information and experience sharing are provided to support research areas. The university library collection held many sources and the library offers a wide variety of research data bases. The articles of professors are published in national and international indexed journals. The academicians have awards in architecture and academic field. Some of the students can take part in academic projects supported by TÜBITAK and Altınbaş University Scientific Research Support as scholarship researchers.
