Istanbul Altınbaş University accepted its first students to the Business Administration PhD program in the 2011-2012 Academic Year.

• Business Administration PhD Program offers specialized training in global dynamics, business processes, organizational management, financial analysis, data analysis and strategic decision-making techniques to provide the capability to handle the complexity of the business world and being able to conduct academic research, discuss scientific theories, interpret data, and conduct applied scientific work. Within the scope of the program, comprehensive education that includes theoretical knowledge and practical applications in management, marketing, finance, accounting, leadership, human resources, entrepreneurship, operations management, data analysis and strategic decision-making techniques is provided by academicians who are expertized in their fields and have sectoral experience. While the students gain the competence to conduct academic research, a wide pool of elective courses is offered according to their interests so that they can be specialized in the field they choose. Our program provides our students, who aim to be in academic life, the opportunity to improve themselves in terms of literature review, model development, data collection, data analysis and presentation as well.

• The Business Administration PhD program aims to ensure that its students become leaders in the field they work in. Our graduates make a difference in their fields with the necessary knowledge and communication skills. Through the conferences and seminars attended throughout their doctoral studies, our students have the opportunity to meet academicians and professionals who are leaders in their fields and benefit from their experiences.

Students who complete this program successfully are granted a PhD Degree in Business Administration.

Business and Administration

Admission and registration principles are explained in detail in the section titled "Part Three - Application and Admission" in the "Altınbaş University Graduate Education and Training Regulation" published in the Official Gazette No. 29952. According to this; *They must have a master's degree with thesis and have an ALES score determined by the Senate decision, provided that it is not less than 55 points in the score type of the program they are applying for. The weight on which the ALES score will be evaluated, provided that it is not less than 50%, is determined by the Senate. * The Institute can also accept students with ALES score alone. Equivalent scores accepted as equivalent to ALES and declared by the Council of Higher Education can be increased by the decision of the Senate.

Recognition of prior learning is subject to the framework bylaws at national level set by Council of Higher Education and to the related bylaws of Altinbaş University. Transfer of students among programs within the university is done according to quotas determined by the executive councils of the respective schools.

For students accepted to the doctoral program with a master's degree with thesis, a total of twenty-one credits and at least 240 ECTS, including at least seven courses, a seminar, a qualifying exam, a thesis proposal and a thesis study, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS in one academic semester. 

For students accepted with a bachelor's degree, it consists of a total of at least 300 ECTS credits, including fourteen courses of at least forty-two credits, a seminar, a qualifying exam, a thesis proposal and a thesis study.

In order for the student to graduate, their overall GPA must be at least 3.00 / 4.00.

The PhD in Business enables students to become leader in their topic. Our graduates who possess the necessary knowledge and communication skills to make a difference in their fields. Throughout the education as well as participating in conferences and seminars, where they find the opportunity to meet the leading academics and professionals in their field and learn from their experiences.

The graduates of this program work as business administration experts who add value in the public and private sectors as well as non-governmental organizations. The graduates can work in areas such as marketing, sales, procurement, logistics, strategic planning, production management, accounting, finance, auditing and human resources. Our graduates may also join academia in their field.

Students who graduate from this program may apply for studying at programs at postdoctoral level or for academic positions of Assistant Professor at universities.
