Radiotherapy Program started education in 2015-2016

Aim

  • To train qualified assistant health personnel who can assist radiation oncologists and health physicists and work in radiation oncology centers, who have the knowledge and skills to perform radiation therapy and simulation.
Objective

  • To train qualified radiotherapy technicians who have the knowledge and skills to control radiotherapy devices and machines and to assist radiation oncologists and health physicists during radiation treatment.
Qualification Awarded

When the radiotherapy program students graduate, they get the title of "Radiotherapy Technician".

RADIOTHERAPY program is a 2 year (4 semesters) program consisting of 120 ECTS credits. Students who have successfully completed the program are awarded with an Associate's Degree in RADYOTERAPI.

Specific Admission Requirements

They are accepted according to the result of the Basic Proficiency Test (BPT) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (SSPC) in the RADYOTHERAPY department.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students may apply to be exempted from the courses they have taken from the higher education institutions they have enrolled in before or from an approved institution. Requests for exemption shall be decided by the board of directors, if necessary, by taking the opinion of the instructor who gave the relevant course.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Radiotherapists, radiotherapy specialists and / or radiation physicists as a team with the preparation and treatment services. Radiotherapy applications are usually carried out in the relevant departments of university and state hospitals, and departments of radiotherapy are common in private hospitals. Hence, the employment areas of professional staff have started to become widespread. Radiotherapy technicians can work in private diagnostic centers in oncology clinics of public and private hospitals. The graduates of vocational high schools of health services can work in hospitals, hospitals and hospitals affiliated with various institutions, private clinics and outpatient clinics of the Ministry of Health.

Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete the program with a Vertical Jump Test RADIATION SSPC organized by the university, they can switch to the relevant section of the license RADIATION program in Turkey.

Graduation Requirements

In order for a student to graduate from a RADIOTHERAPY program, Grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 To achieve all compulsory courses in the curriculum Achieve all other work envisaged in the program Completion of a total of 120 ECTS credits 30 working days to complete the summer internship Graduation must be decided by the relevant Board of Directors.
